the High Priestess.

She is the perpetual motion of the Universe. All of existence is supported and maintained through her very being. Between the pillars of Good and Evil, she sits in dynamic neutrality. The power inherent is immeasurable and will as swiftly generate a miracle as a disaster.

the World.

Completion of a chapter in the ongoing and cyclic process of learning generates more questions than answers. Knowledge and experience are synthesized into wisdom and in doing so, they open the mind. It is a moment in which one phase of life reaches its conclusion so that there may be a graduation to the next.

the Five of Wands.

Healthy competition has the capacity to strengthen and hone one's personal skills. Opposition indicates the recognition of competence. This may be perceived as very high praise or as an impediment, depending on one's chosen perspective.

Strength.

Perseverance and self-discipline are required if thought is to take form in material reality. The same applies to inner transformative work. Steady and regular progress is the key to success in either case.

Justice.

Truth may be perceived differently from one perspective to the other. Choice is individual expression of free Will. The conscience exists to remind us that with freedom there is responsibility and every choice we make generates a consequence. Honorable, ethical conduct is the seed of peace.

Temperance.

Harmony is dynamic: the continual ebb and flow of ideas, perceptions and emotions must move actively if there is to be understanding. Whether this is an internal phenomena or an exchange between people, it requires great patience.

Judgment.

After all seemed lost, new life springs forth unfettered by the past. A new day dawns and there is an inner knowing that this moment of resurrection could not have come if death had not occurred. The dark times have passed and all of Life is renewed.

the King of Swords.

Master the intellect before it becomes the dictator of the Self. Tyranny is power in its most toxic form. The force of the mind must be directed and tempered by the Will, the Heart and the Body. In this, more healthy and productive expression, intelligence can become a true asset.

the Ten of Swords.

The pen is very often mightier than the sword, and vastly more devastating. Words are capable of inflicting more pain than a weapon ever could. Even more traumatic, however, is the wound that is caused by silence.
